Atlanta, October 17 – Bakers everywhere celebrate as the world’s best bread-related virtual reality game approaches release, for both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Breadwinner is best described as an arcade wave sorter, where you play the role of a QA manager. Instead of using a gun to shoot enemies, you must use your own hands to sort good and bad bread. Here’s the kicker: Bread will come from multiple directions, at a breakneck pace. Just who designed this factory, anyway!?
There are several unique game modes, each with its own unique twist on the tried-and-true bread-sorting formula. If sorting isn’t enough, you can always throw them into bins that are placed tens of meters away in Hoops. Or, alternatively, you can test your skills trying to catch loaves of bread shot out of a freaking cannon in the aptly-named Breadliest Catch. Or you can race against the clock in time attack mode. The possibilities are endless!
Breadwinner further distinguishes itself from other virtual reality experiences through its sheer absurdity. Between the bright and colorful factory, the unreasonably rapid conveyor belts, and several unlockable bread loaves including “Jesus Crust,” “Speedy the Breadgehog”, and “Incog-knead-dough,” Breadwinner is absolutely bursting with personality.
Breadwinner VR will be available on the Steam store for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift starting Tuesday, October 24th, for less than the price of a loaf of bread! ($2.99)
END PRESS RELEASE
Sounds like a unique game for sure. Clever marketing line aside, I don’t know where they buy bread that costs over $3 though. Also, they missed the boat by not calling it “BR”. Ha!
