Normally a game shuts down due to poor sales and the like, but this announcement is actually directly correlated to the success of the “Battle Royale” mode of Epics’s fort-building wave defense game Fortnite. Some of the Paragon team have shifted to Fortnite though, so it’s not a complete development team firing.
Players who have purchased/supported the game are even being entitled to a refund. Head over to the Paragon blog for information on how to get your money back.

I remember when Daniel and I were first discussing the creation of this website and games to play for it, I brought up Paragon to him. Personally I’m not a fan of MOBAs but I have a tendency to like Epic’s games (Gears of War is one of Daniel and I’s favorite franchises ever) so I figured we could at least give it a shot. We ended up putting it on the backburner as a “rainy day” type of game and now, lo and behold, it’s in a “don’t bother at this point” stage. That being said, I might just give it a spin to say that I played it before it goes away forever.
