Dead or Alive lives on!   Ever since the somber announcement during NEC18 that Team Ninja would no longer be continuing work towards Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, it was uncertain as to the fate of the franchise. The silent reaction from the crowd of players would convince anyone that what was truly happening was a funeral rather than the closing ceremonies for the Dead or Alive Battle Royal 2017 Grand Finals. Well, just a few days ago, Team Ninja unveiled the trailer for their latest Dead or Alive installment. Quite frankly, the trailer looks very interesting and appears to have a new feature that zooms in on moves with heavy impact as well as the inclusion of a super meter. Dead or Alive has always had a reputation of being [...]

Prodigy Demo Impressions (with video)

Prodigy is a game that doesn't have a lot of noticeable hype surrounding it. In fact, a quick google search is more likely to bring up information about a math game. But Hanakai Studio has created a gorgeous looking tactical RPG. Tactical RPGs have never really been my cup of tea, but after seeing the game featured on AlphaBetaGamer, I decided to download the demo and check it out. The game is visually stunning and the graphics are what drew me in initially. “Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0” Open Beta Impressions

Trianga's Project: Battle Splash 2.0 (or just Battle Splash as I've grown accustomed to calling it) is in open beta on Steam right now. It's a non-violent shooting game in which the objective is to get the enemy wet with water. I've made a video of my impressions of the game, which you can find here: -Matthew [Note: Apologies for the HORRIFIC pronunciation of the character's names. I will try harder the next time.]

Hands-On with the ‘Galactagirl’ Alpha

PREVIEW Just by looking at Galactagirl you can already form a picture in your mind about the way the game will play. Watching the announcement trailer you imagine that it's a cross between Mega Man, Sonic The Hedgehog and another old school game or two (Strider pops into my mind.) That assessment is one that the creator acknowledges on the game's release page: ...inspired by retro classics such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man and Ninja Gaiden Graphics are spot-on NES style and the music fits very well. The sound effects are good albeit a little repetitive but you have to remember that this is just the alpha version of the game. Keep in mind that a lot can (and probably will) change between this version of the game and [...]
